The requirements of technical approval are applied to profile shapes with cross-section shapes L, U, C, Z, ∑ and Ω up to 12 meters in length, which are being cold-bent by UAB “Lankmeta” from:
• strips and sheets of construction steel coated with molten zinc up to 3 mm in thickness, regulated by LST EN 10326:2004;
• strips and sheets of low-carbon steel coated with molten zinc, intended for cold forming, up to 3 mm in thickness, regulated by LST EN 10327:2004.
Certified steel profile shapes are produced from zinc-coated construction steel S350 GD + Z275MA (manufactured by “RUUKKI” (Finland) and “ArcelorMittal“ (Germany)). When using this metal, profile shape type can be selected accurately and responsibly according to the loads given.
Measurements of the profile shapes are specified in tables in Annex A to the technical approval (click on the link under the appropriate profile shapes with cross-section shapes L, U, C, Z, ∑ and Ω).
UAB “Lankmeta” is one of the few companies in the Baltics, using construction steel S350GD + Z275 MA for the production of profile shapes. Products made from construction steel of this grade can be used responsibly in roof and wall constructions, and we can issue a compliance declaration for each profile shape.
Compared to regular sheet steel DX51D + Z275MA, profile shapes made from structural construction steel S350GD + Z275MA, are stronger, more resistant to bending, have a strictly defined yield strength, varying from 350 to 440 N/mm
2. This is particularly important when carrying out structure calculations according to the loads given, which is not the case with steel DX51D + Z275 MA, the lower and upper yield strength limits of which are not indicated. Due to these characteristics it is prohibited from use in responsible (roof, etc.) structures.
When carrying out structure calculations for roofs and walls of construction objects, constructors use the characteristics of S350GD + Z275 MA grade steel only. We, therefore, advice you to select the construction profile shapes responsibly so that the installed roofs and facades would be safe, reliable and durable.
